§ 01

About these terms

These terms cover Disk Whisk for Mac (the app), the diskwhisk.com website and license portal, and any purchase of Disk Whisk Pro. They are the app’s end-user license agreement, the terms of service for the website and licensing service, and the terms of sale, in one document. The privacy notice and the license policy are part of them.

“We”, “us” and “our” mean Intellogic. “You” means the person who downloads, uses or buys Disk Whisk. By downloading, installing or using the app, or by buying Pro, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights consumer law in the country where you live gives you.

§ 02

Who sells Disk Whisk

Disk Whisk is made and sold by Intellogic. Your contract is with Intellogic. Stripe processes payments for us; it is not the seller.

§ 03

Your license to use Disk Whisk

Disk Whisk is licensed, not sold. As long as you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control, for your own use, including your own work.

  • Free. Scanning, the storage map, explanations, Make Room plans, container insights, Compress estimates, Uncompress, Ask Disk Whisk, History and restore are free, on as many of your Macs as you like, with no time limit.
  • Trial. Each Mac can run one 7-day Pro trial, with no account or card. The trial is tied to the Mac, so reinstalling the app or creating an account does not start a new one.
  • Pro. Each Pro plan, whether one-time, yearly or monthly, can be active on up to 2 Macs at a time. You can move it from one Mac to another by deactivating the old one.

A license is for one person. It doesn’t cover installing Disk Whisk across an organization’s Macs; write to us if you need that.

You may not copy the app except to install and back it up; sell, rent, lend or share it or a license key; get around licensing, activation, trial or seat limits; or remove our notices. You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction. The app includes open-source components, which come with their own licenses; those licenses apply to those components. We and our licensors keep all rights not given to you here.

§ 04

Disk Whisk is in public beta

Disk Whisk is signed and notarized by Apple and tested carefully, but it is still in public beta. It may have bugs, and features may change as it moves toward 1.0. We’ll describe changes in the release notes.

A Pro purchase made during the beta keeps covering later versions on the terms of its plan: a one-time license includes all future versions while it remains valid, and a subscription includes updates while it is active. We won’t take away a Pro feature you have already paid for without offering a fair remedy, such as a refund.

What changedRelease notes

§ 05

What Disk Whisk changes on your Mac

Scans only read. Nothing changes until you review a plan and approve it, and Disk Whisk checks each item again right before it acts. Most cleanups move items to the macOS Trash, where you can restore them from History until the Trash is emptied.

Some actions are permanent. Disk Whisk says so and asks you to confirm before each one:

  • Containers & VMs. Removing container images, registry data or stopped virtual machines happens through each tool’s own commands and bypasses the Trash. It can’t be undone.
  • Empty Trash. Deletes everything in the Trash, including items Disk Whisk didn’t put there.
  • Maintain’s final removal. If you separately turn it on, items Maintain moved to the Trash are deleted after 7 days.

Compress (Pro) rewrites the files in folders you choose in compressed form. Their contents, names and locations don’t change, and Uncompress, which is free, reverses it.

See itHow a cleanup works, step by step

§ 06

Backups and your responsibilities

Keep a current backup of your Mac, for example with Time Machine, especially before a permanent action. Read each plan before you approve it: you decide what moves and what is deleted. We can’t recover anything that has been permanently deleted.

Use Disk Whisk only on Macs and files you have the right to manage. You choose which permissions to grant it in macOS, such as Full Disk Access, App Management or Automation, and you can withdraw them in System Settings.

§ 07

Buying Pro

Plans and prices are shown on this website and at checkout, in US dollars. The one-time launch price applies to the first 500 one-time licenses. Checkout is handled by Stripe. The contract is formed when your payment is confirmed, and your license key is emailed to you straight away. The app itself is downloaded from this website. Please use an email address you can access: key recovery and seat changes are verified through it.

Any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies is worked out from your location and shown at checkout before you pay.

We may change prices for future purchases. A change never affects what you have already paid. If a subscription price changes, we’ll tell you before your next renewal at the new price, so you can cancel first if you prefer.

§ 08

Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

Yearly and monthly plans renew automatically at the end of each period, and the plan’s price is charged to your payment method, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through Billing & cancellation in Your license, or by writing to us. Cancelling stops future renewals; Pro stays available until the end of the period you have paid for.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may try again. If the period ends unpaid, Pro pauses and your Macs return to Free until a payment goes through.

§ 09

Refunds

One-time and yearly payments can be refunded in full within 30 days. Write to us from your purchase email with your receipt; you don’t need to give a reason. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and aren’t refunded for the current month, unless the law requires otherwise.

A refund ends the license it paid for, and the Macs using it return to Free. History and restore keep working. If you dispute a payment with your bank instead, the license is suspended while the dispute is open, so please write to us first: it is usually quicker.

§ 10

Your right of withdrawal in the EU and UK

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase made online. For digital content delivered straight away, that right ends once delivery begins, if you asked for immediate delivery and acknowledged that you would lose it.

When you buy Pro, you ask us to deliver your license key immediately, and you acknowledge that the right of withdrawal ends once the key is delivered. This doesn’t leave you worse off: the 30-day refund on one-time and yearly payments still applies and is longer than the 14-day period, and monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. To ask for a refund, a short email to us is enough.

§ 11

Activation, licensing checks and updates

Pro needs an internet connection to activate, and checks in with our licensing service at least once every 30 days. Free features, History and restore work offline. How seats, transfers and offline use work is set out in the license policy.

From version 0.9.5, the app checks once a day whether a newer version is available, and you can check at any time with Disk Whisk ▸ Check for Updates… You can turn the daily check off in Settings ▸ General. Updates are free on the terms of your plan. We give support by email, as promptly as we can.

§ 12

Acceptable use

When you use the app, this website or our licensing service, please don’t:

  • share, publish, resell or generate license keys;
  • get around trials, seat limits or activation, or automate trial starts;
  • attack, overload, scrape or try to gain unauthorized access to our services or other customers’ data;
  • use Disk Whisk to break the law or to change files on a Mac you aren’t allowed to manage.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at hello@diskwhisk.com and give us a reasonable time to fix it before you disclose it.

§ 13

Services from other companies

Stripe handles payments, Supabase handles optional sign-in (including Continue with Google), Resend delivers our emails and Cloudflare runs our website and licensing service. Their own terms apply to their services.

Ask Disk Whisk is optional and answers from local rules unless you add your own DeepSeek API key. If you do, your use of DeepSeek is governed by your agreement with DeepSeek, and any API charges are yours.

DataWhat each service receives

§ 14

Our promise, and what we don’t promise

We supply Disk Whisk with reasonable care and skill, and it should match its description. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights when digital content is faulty or not as described, such as a repair, a replacement or a refund, and these terms don’t affect them.

Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, the app, the website and our services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without other warranties, express or implied, including of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the app is free of errors or interruptions, that it finds every item, or that sizes, estimates and forecasts, such as Compress savings or Disk Runway, are exact.

§ 15

Limits on our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can’t be limited or excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for breaching your statutory rights as a consumer.

If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss or damage that isn’t foreseeable. If faulty digital content we supplied damages a device or digital content of yours, we’ll repair the damage or compensate you, but not for damage you could have avoided by installing a free update we offered, by following our instructions, or by keeping a backup as described above. We supply Disk Whisk for personal use: if you use it for business, we aren’t liable to you for loss of profit, business, business interruption or business opportunity.

If you are not a consumer, then as far as the law allows we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, and our total liability for all claims about the app, the website and your purchases is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.

§ 16

Ending this agreement

You can stop using Disk Whisk at any time by deleting it; cancel any subscription first. We may suspend or end your license if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example by sharing keys or getting around licensing, or if a payment is refunded or reversed. Where it is reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

If we end a paid license for a reason that isn’t your fault, we’ll refund a fair share of what you paid. Parts of these terms that by their nature should continue, such as those on ownership, warranties, liability and law, continue after the agreement ends.

§ 17

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. The new version will appear here with a new date. For a change that matters to you, we’ll give reasonable notice before it takes effect, by email where we have your address or in the app. A change never applies to a purchase already made in a way that reduces what you paid for; if you don’t accept a change to a subscription, you can cancel before it renews.

§ 18

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country where Intellogic is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live, and nothing in these terms takes it away. You can bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, or where Intellogic is established.

If something goes wrong, please write to us first. Most problems can be solved quickly by email.

§ 19

General

These terms, with the privacy notice and the license policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Disk Whisk. If a court finds part of them invalid, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a part straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer this agreement to a business that takes over Disk Whisk; your rights under it won’t be reduced. You may not transfer it without our agreement.
